VRUM

VRUM Performing Arts Collective is an international contemporary dance and theatre organisation founded in Zagreb in 2007, with a sister organisation established in Vienna in 2016. Led by artistic director Sanja Frühwald, VRUM brings together artists from different disciplines to create innovative, interactive, and inclusive performances, primarily for young audiences.

The collective combines contemporary dance with theatre, visual arts, music, and new media, developing a unique artistic language for each production. Audience participation, intergenerational collaboration, and community engagement are central to VRUM’s work, alongside workshops, educational programmes, and knowledge-sharing activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and active participation.

Beyond artistic production, VRUM is committed to strengthening the contemporary dance sector for young audiences. It coordinates KLIKER and GENERATOR, platforms dedicated to contemporary dance for young audiences, organises international festivals, and actively contributes to European cooperation through networks, residencies, research projects, and professional exchanges.

Since its foundation, VRUM has created more than 25 original productions, presented work in over 20 countries worldwide, and collaborated with numerous European cultural organisations. Through its artistic and educational activities, VRUM promotes inclusion, dialogue, cultural participation, and the transformative power of the performing arts.
